Carriage Lane offers children’s choirs for kids 4 years old through 6th grade. They meet as part of our midweek children’s program on Wednesday evenings from 6:45-7:30.

Purpose: To share the love of Christ with children while we teach and sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in our hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16)

Philosophy: Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. (Psalm 147:1)We believe music is one of the primary modes of worship. Through music, our hearts can praise and worship our great God in a way that words alone cannot.  As Psalm 147:1 states, it is pleasant and joyous to sing praises to God, and it is the right thing to do.  In order for our children to echo this verse in their own hearts, we must teach them why God is so worthty of worship and how to sing to Him.  We use psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to teach them how God loves us and sent His only Son to live a perfect life and die the death we deserved.  We incorporate scripture and great hymns of faith along with modern praise songs as we learn the fundamentals of music.  Children are energized by working together towards a common goal as we prepare a spring production with music and drama. This enables children to explore their God-given talents and to begin to use them in His service.  As we work together on the musical, we strive to teach the children to proclaim the mighty works of God to all who will hear (Psalm 40:5), to work heartily as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23-24), and to give all the glory to the Lord because of His love and faithfulness (Psalm 115:1).  Ultimately, we desire that God will give these children hearts of flesh that are soft and joyous and that He will make them true worshipers.  We pray that they will draw others to God through their testimony of His love and faithfulness.
