And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Children’s Ministry of Carriage Lane exists to support and equip families in making disciples with a kingdom world and life view, reflected in serving God in all areas of life.  We take seriously the congregational vow made during the baptism of our children to help nurture and grow a child’s faith. We are committed to fulfill our responsibility to teach the knowledge of the Lord, train the children in the precepts of His Word and nurture their love and devotion for Him.  We look in faith that as the child grows and matures physically he will grow and mature spiritually as well.

  • Nursery & Preschool (Infants - 2 years)

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward." Psalm 127:3

Carriage Lane provides several nurseries designed for the security and nurture of our youngest children. Each nursery is staffed with one full-time worker who provides the children with continuity of care plus at least one church member volunteer.

Our paid staff and volunteers are asked to read Carriage Lane's Nursery Handbook and agree to church policies. Additionally, all staff are required to undergo a background check.
Carriage Lane uses the KidCheck electronic registration system to further insure the safety of children infant-2nd grade. Parents check children in at a computer located either outside the upstairs nursery or downstairs.

    Our nurseries include:
    Toddlers 1
    2 year olds
  • Children's Sunday School (2 years - 6th grade)

"... tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done."
    Psalm 78:4b

We desire that our children know the Lord and walk in obedience to His Word at an early age. It is to this end that we dedicate ourselves to provide sound Biblical teaching that is age-appropriate in each of our Sunday School classes. A team of dedicated teachers prepare faithfully for each class.

Sunday School classes meet from 9:30-10:45 Sunday mornings.

Kindergarten through 5th grades gather for an opening assembly in the Fellowship Hall, the building next to the main church building. After opening assembly the Kindergarteners, and 1st graders are escorted by their teachers to their classrooms downstairs in the main building where they are picked up after Sunday School 2nd -6th grade classes are held in the Fellowship Hall. After Sunday School these children meet their parents in the lobby of the main building.
  • Preschool Praise (3 - 4 years)

"Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!"
    Psalm 100:1-2

Preschool Praise is a Children's Church offering for our 3 and 4-year-olds. These little children are capable and eager to learn God's truth therefore, during the last half of the worship service they gather as a group for Bible stories, music and crafts. A team of leaders work with the assigned nursery volunteers to ensure that the children have more than just babysitting during church.

*Parents don't need to take their children back and forth to Preschool Praise. We pick them up and drop them back off in their original Sunday school rooms where parents check them out after the worship service.
  • Children's Church (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade)

"Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!"
    Psalm 100:1-2

During the last half of the worship service, families have the option of sending their kindergarten-2nd grade children to attend Children's Church. Here the children are instructed in the elements of worship, Bible knowledge with a particular emphasis on the distinctions of the Reformed Faith and proper conduct of worship. Alternating teaching teams focus on the particular lesson themes of Bible Characters, The Westminster Confession of Faith, Worship and Missions.
