Welcome and Announcements
Greet One Another

[We shout with joy unto the LORD for His glorious and awesome deeds. The Psalmist calls us to remember the greatness of the Exodus and how the Israelites walked through the river on dry land. We as Christians today rejoice along with them for because of Christ’s victory over death, we have crossed over onto dry land. May all the earth hear the sound of our worship and glorify Him!]
Call to Worship – Psalm 66:1-9
Pastor: Shout for joy to God, all the earth;
Congregation: sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise!
Pastor: Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.
Congregation: All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.”
Pastor: Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
Congregation: He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. There did we rejoice in him, who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let not the rebellious exalt themselves.
Pastor: Bless our God, O peoples;
Congregation: let the sound of his praise be heard, who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip.

Prayer of Adoration and Invocation

[O that there would be a thousand tongues together to sing our great redeemer’s praise. It is the Jesus who charms our fears and bids our sorrows cease. It is Jesus who has broken the power of reigning sin and sets the prisoner free. There is much redemption found in our Savior Jesus. Let us together sing of our great Redeemer’s praise!]
Hymn of Adoration – #64 O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing
O for a thousand tongues to sing My great Redeemer’s praise,
The glories of my God and King, The triumphs of His grace!

My gracious Master and my God, Assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad The honors of Thy name.

Jesus! the name that charms our fears, That bids our sorrows cease;
‘Tis music in the sinner’s ears, ‘Tis life, and health, and peace.

He breaks the pow’r of reigning sin, He sets the pris’ner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean, His blood availed for me.

He speaks, and, list’ning to His voice, New life the dead receive,
The mournful, broken hearts rejoice, The humble poor believe.

Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb, Your loosen’d tongues employ;
Ye blind, behold your Savior come, And leap, ye lame, for joy.

[We’ve gathered to praise our God together. We declare to one another and to God that we will worship, praise, seek and follow only Him.]
Song of Adoration – You’re Worthy of My Praise

[Just as there was judgment with the blood in the 10th plague, so there is judgment with the water in Israelites exodus from Egypt. For God did not bring them through that judgment safe in order that they might walk in their own ways and love themselves. No! God redeemed them and landed them safely on the other side in order that they might love Him and not rebel against Him within their hearts. We drink from the spiritual Rock of Christ and are sustained for the day of temptation and battle with sin.]
Scripture Reading – 1 Corinthians 10:1-13
1 For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, 2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3 and all ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did. 7 Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.” 8 We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day. 9 We must not put Christ to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents, 10 nor grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer. 11 Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come. 12 Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Prayer of Confession

[Just as the Israelites walked through judgment in the waters of the Exodus, so anyone who believes in Jesus has passed from death to life; for Christ took our judgment upon Himself that we might live eternally with the Father. We are forever united with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!]
Assurance of Pardon – John 5:21, 24
21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will. 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

[It was on the cross where the judgment of our sin was taken away. We stand forgiven at the cross as Jesus took our judgment, our wrath at the cross. May we ever give thanks for our glorious salvation.]
Song of Thanksgiving – The Power of the Cross

Reception of New Members

Prayer of Intercession

[Our LORD has displayed for us glory and strength in the provision of our forgiveness. We ascribe to Him this glory and give back to Him what He’s freely given us.]
Tithes and Offerings – Psalm 96:7-8
7 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength! 8 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts!

Offertory – Just Be Held

Sermon – Exodus 13:17-14:31

[It is the LORD who is with us as we walk through the waters and fire of life. We need not fear the judgment of death due for our sins because of Christ’s redemption. We need not fear the waves and flames of life, because Christ has ultimately secured for us eternal life and He will continually be the LORD our God, our Holy One and Savior. There is no other like Him. May we rejoice in His goodness and love.]
Song of Response – Isaiah 43

[Through the exodus, God displayed His power of crushing Satan’s plan. Not only has God crushed Satan’s plan, but He will soon crush Satan under the feet of Jesus. We look forward with much anticipation for that day. May we live in the hope of the Gospel as we enter back into the world.]
Benediction – Romans 16:20
20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
