Greet One Another

[We worship and give thanks to the LORD for He is exalted above all gods. All kings of the earth bow down to him. As we walk in trouble, he preserves our lives and stretches out His hand against our enemies and delivers us.]
Call to Worship – Psalm 138
Pastor: I give you thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise;
Congregation: I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.
Pastor: On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased.
Congregation: All the kings of the earth shall give you thanks, O LORD, for they have heard the words of your mouth, and they shall sing of the ways of the LORD, for great is the glory of the LORD. For though the LORD is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he knows from afar.
Pastor: Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.
Congregation: The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.

[We respond to our God’s call to worship through singing to Him Hallelujah and glorious praises. We’ve known the blessing of the LORD and have experienced His deliverance from oppression. We’ve seen Him provide in the midst of hunger, capture, anguish, and blindness. He has raised us up as we’ve walked in humility. We sing glorious praises to our great God who reigns over all things and people for ever.]
Hymn of Adoration – #57 Hallelujah, Praise Jehovah
Hallelujah, praise Jehovah, O my soul, Jehovah praise;
I will sing the glorious praises of my God through all my days.
Put no confidence in princes, nor for help on man depend;
He shall die, to dust returning, and his purposes shall end.

Happy is the man that chooses Israel’s God to be his aid;
He is blest whose hope of blessing on the Lord his God is stayed.
Heav’n and earth the Lord created, seas and all that they contain;
He delivers from oppression, righteousness He will maintain.

Food He daily gives the hungry, sets the mourning pris’ner free,
Raises those bowed down with anguish, makes the sightless eyes to see.
Well Jehovah loves the righteous, and the stranger He befriends,
Helps the fatherless and the widow, judgment on the wicked sends.

Hallelujah, praise Jehovah, O my soul, Jehovah praise;
I will sing the glorious praises of my God through all my days.
Over all God reigns forever, through all ages He is King;
Unto Him, your God, O Zion, joyful hallelujahs sing.

Prayer of Adoration and Invocation

[We worship our God and Savior Jesus, who stepped down from heaven into our darkness. We bow our knee in humility and worship Him for He is altogether worthy and lovely. He is the King and glorious over all creation. He went to the cross out of love in order bring about redemption from our slavery.]
Song of Adoration – Here I Am to Worship

[The Israelites hadn’t seen the glory of Jesus, and yet worshiped His holy name. We have experienced Christ’s glory more fully than them, and yet are blind and have a hard heart towards him. We love more the glory of man than the glory of God.]
Scripture Reading – John 12:36-43
36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” When Jesus had said these things, he departed and hid himself from them. 37 Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him, 38 so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: “Lord, who has believed what he heard from us, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
39   Therefore they could not believe. For again Isaiah said,
40    “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I would heal them.”
41   Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory and spoke of him. 42 Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.

Prayer of Confession

[While we loved the glory of man and our own glory, the LORD sent His Son to save us, wash us, and renew us. We now are justified by His grace and heirs according to the hope of eternal life.]
Assurance of Pardon – Titus 3:3-7
3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

[It is God’s rich mercy that has freed us, renewed us, and justified us. It is mercy that will dissolve the hardness of our heart and lead us to weep in praise of the mercy we found. We sing praises to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for this amazing love.]
Song of Thanksgiving – Thy Mercy, My God

Prayer of Intercession

[The LORD in judgment poured out things during the plagues due to work against evil. However, the LORD promises to provide plenty for honoring the LORD with our wealth and firstfruits.]
Tithes and Offerings – Proverbs 3:9-10
9 Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; 10 then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.

Offertory – You are God Alone

Sermon – Exodus 7:8-10:29

[As we respond from God’s Word, the Psalmist calls us to thank the LORD and call on His name, to declare among the world His deeds. Our Great God in Egypt performed many signs and wonders, in order that we might know Him and glory in Him alone.]
Psalm of Response – O Thank the LORD (Psalm 105)

Benediction – 2 Corinthians 13:14
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
